Suki-Ya Japanese Buffet Restaurant located at Marina Square which link to my hotel so by walking distance I can reach this restaurant, attracted by the buffet style Shabu Shabu where you can’t get it in Penang. If you know anywhere in Penang offer shabu shabu buffet please do let us know ya.
It cost SGD19.90 for adult, pretty cheap right? Since you can free flow of thin slice meat.
3 different type of soup base, sukiyaki, shabu shabu and kimchi, we choose to have sukiyaki and kimchi.
Sukiyaki taste a little bit salty while kimchi a little bit spicy, I recommended kimchi as it has better flavor.
Other than shabu shabu, Suki-Ya do offer other ingredients as well such as vegetable, mushroom, fish ball, meat ball, noodle..etc
You are allow to choose two type of meat at one time, each time they will deliver 2 square trays which contain around 8 – 10 slices of meat each. You can change your selection on next ordered so no worry and you can ordered unlimited as long as you can finish it. All meat is nicely slice to very thin.
How to shabu shabu a tender and soft meat, first you have to prepare egg in a bowl and dip meat into it
Make sure it fully submerge, every part of the meat stick with egg.
Like this, perfect dipping
Put it into steamboat, make a few swing the release the meat and immediately take it out, why release it because the portion where your chopstick hold on to it is not cook, by releasing it a while to ensure all fully shabu shabu, don’t boil it too long, just 1, 2, 3 seconds and it good enough.
Only shabu shabu is quite boring, so take some vegetable or fish ball to balance out.
End the buffet with a bowl of ice-cream, one person are allow to have only one bowl but trust me, you can’t even finish it after so many plate of meat.
Well, I believe you interested to know how many trap we finish, we fail miserable, we only finish up 6 trap and that is so less. Seem like our stomach just don’t accept that much compare to study time.
