Happy New Year! Eastin Hotel Swez Brasserie restaurant having a Aussie Tucker Promotion for January 2013 starting now. Instead of buffet promotion Swez Brasserie also served in Semi Buffet style where a main dish will be served together with buffet for appetizer, drink and dessert.
Uluru Calamari Salad served as appetizer that has fish roe, squid, olive, mandarin orange and other vegetable mix together with sauce, the taste is light and refreshing, the present of mandarin orange gave a sweet and light sour taste while the squid is springry.
Chiko Roll is pretty much like Spring Roll that we eat locally but the filling inside is pretty special, when i had my first bite I am suprise by the strong lamb taste. The lamb taste is pretty strong and i do believe not everyone can accept it but for lamb lover like us this definetely a great dish. Lamb is cut into small pieces together with carrot and onion wrapped with spring roll sheet.
Macadamia Crusted Fish Fillet, Aussie Swiss Chicken and Onion Monegasque was the main course for Aussie Tucker.
Macadamia Crusted Fish Fillet is an extremely thick cut pan seared sea bass that has macadamia crust on top. I know it not easy to have a perfect cook thick cut fish meat as fish can be easily overcook hence a good grip of cooking time is the key to success of this dish, the chef nailed it. The fish meat is perfectly cook, crispy outside while juicy inside, the fish meat is still soft and maintain the natural sweetness.
Aussie Swiss Chicken is pretty close to sandwish style as the chicken is first pan seared then top with a layer of ham and cheese, i found the combination is rather delicious just that it a little bit cold when served hence the cheese has become hard.
Onion Monegasque, instead of calling this as main dish i would say this is an appetizer. it is actually pita bread and corn tortilla chips with onion, the crispy corn tortilla chips goes well with the onion.
Sesame Carrot is a special dish to me as it look to be simple, plain and boring but after first taste i am suprise of by the rich flavor of carrot, it does has the freshness and sweetness from carrot, sauteed taste from seasoning and texture from both carrot and sesame.
Pavlova is a simple but special dessert, the reason I say it special because of the poached meringue which texture is something i never eat before, we call it a soft version of styrofoam. Dont’t get me wrong, it just taste like styrofoam but not styrofoam, it is indeed egg white with sugar. It served together with some fruits in it.
