G Hotel Ramadhan Buffet is held on Sesame & Soy which i visited in 2012 for Chinese Food Fine Dining, this round we going for buffet. During Ramadhan month buffet price list as below. Selamat Berbuka Puasa
Fresh vegetable salad with assorted dressing.
Assorted fresh fruits such as Jack fruit, Watermelon, Papaya and Honey dew. Rarely hotel buffet offer Jack fruit and every time i get to eat it either at G Hotel Buffet or G Kelawai Buffet.
Ulam is Malay traditional food, raw vegetable dip with spicy chili paste or we local call it Sambal. Instead of typical salad with dressing, you may try this local "salad" that taste completely different and unique.
Two type of salad, I like the sour and crunchy mango, carrot with jelly fish, it is so crunchy and appetizing.
Pisang Goreng, that is my favorite. I like the way Pisang deep fried to crispy skin, topping with the provided honey making it taste awesome.
Porridge Condiments. My bad, i forgot to take photo of my porridge, the porridge is so good that i finish two bowl without taking any single photo. The porridge pretty much like Hongkie style where porridge is cook for long hour to create the creamy texture, it goes well with salted fish, salted egg and ikan bilis.
Pasembur are rather disappointed as the prawn cracker is not crispy and the sauce has some weird taste.
Assorted Grilled Seafood such as fish, prawn and squid. I found it to be a little bit over cook and cold, it will be good if they can heat it up a little bit or serve small portion by portion to ensure freshness, but the provided chili dipping sauce is awesome, spicy and sour.
Over to main dish counter there are good variety of food selection which greatly demonstrated Malay Authentic Food, pretty much all are curry or chili based cooking. A few highlighted dish such as Ketam Hijau Berempah, Sambal Udang Petai and Dagin Merah, which taste delicious.
Sup Tulang
Spicy and Sour Soup, I like the soup with additional black vinegar, it make it taste good.
Fried BeeHoon Tomyam Seafood, my wife took two big bowl of this as it really taste good, the beehun fully absorb the tomyam paste flavor to make it taste spicy and sour.
Ketam Hijau Berempah, i really enjoy eating the fresh flower crab with assorted herb cooking in it, it has great flavor but not overpower the flower crab sweetness.
Nyonya Asam Pedas Ayam, the chicken is nicely cook to tender and flavorful, the sauce taste spicy and sourish which is great.
Gulai Ikan Talang Masin Dengan Nenas, the taste is pretty much the same as "kiam hu kut gulai (hokkien)", salty and spicy taste. I eat a couple piece of the salted fish meat with one big bowl of steamed rice, the sauce is too good.
Mee Kedah is pretty much taste like Mee Jawa which soup are cook from sweet potato according to Chef.
One stretch of dessert which has so many varieties to choose from, most of the dessert are above average and sadly I do not have second or third stomach to fill more dessert, i only manage to try a couple and overall taste good, not too sweet. The highlighted dish definitely is the Durian Cheese Cake, it doesn't has very strong Durian smell but when you have your first bite, immediately you can taste the creamy yet cheesy texture and flavor, I like the Durian Cheese Cake so much.
Mango Pudding with generous amount of mango cube.
Durian Cheese Cake is one of the big surprise to everyone like i mention above, it look to be typical cheese cake but the Durian flavor really pack a punch.
Chocolate Fondue are served with assorted fresh fruits such as strawberry, honey dew, papaya, dragon fruits...etc. We took a big plate of strawberry then top with the chocolate, great satisfaction.
Gelatomio Ice Cream, Banana, Caramel, Chocolate Chip and Strawberry. Remember to try the Banana Ice Cream, it really has strong Banana taste and it taste like Banana Fruit Juice Ice Cream.
