We follow traditional way of eating Ramadan buffet which is to break fast by eating Dates Fruits first, 8 different type of dates available but we only manage to try 2 which are Tunisia & Safia, Tunisia is coated with a layer of sugar while Safia is dried on outer layer. Both are equally sweet and delicious to get start with.
Moving on to main dish counter, assorted traditional Malay cuisine such as Kacang Panjang Goreng, Sambal Taukua, Sotong Goreng Kunyit, Daging Rendang, Ikan Masak Lemak and many more dishes. Sotong Goreng Kunyit is my favorite as it has very strong Kunyit fragrance and it doesn’t has chewy texture.
Signature of the night is Kambing Golek, whole lamb is perfectly marinated and grilled to perfection. It has very strong flavor on skin and meat are extremely succulent, so delicious that i ate a few plate of it (small plate…).
Sushi Kitchen Restaurant offer healthy food, emphasize on healthy eating with fresh ingredients. Sushi Kitchen has few branches around Penang and Gurney Plaza is one of the latest branch which start operation since last year.
Food ingredients are soaked in enzymes for 45 minutes before cooking.
Mayonnaise are freshly made from non dairy, no egg, no honey and no animal product.
Food are order to cook so be patient while waiting for your food that cook with love.
All food preparation without food preservative, white sugar replace with brown sugar and salt use are Himalayan Rock salt.
Vegetable Hand Roll RM8, freshly roasted Japanese premium seaweed roll with assorted fresh and crunchy vegetable, topping with homemade vegan mayonnaise and G-ken floss. Seaweed are extremely crispy and what make hand roll taste good is the homemade mayonnaise, it has a bit of sour and sweet taste.
Happiness Family RM36, 16 pieces sushi that consists of G-Ken Floss Sushi, Rainbow Maki, Global Warning Maki, Inari, Chuka Wakame Gunkan. Japanese rice are use and it has very nice texture with vinegar fragrance. Deep Fried Sushi is one of their signature as it has extra crispiness.
Mango Sushi are seasonal menu item as Mango are not available throughout the year. Honestly this is a piece of art, it look gorgeous. Sushi wrapped with carrot, cucumber & G-Ken floss. Sour and Sweet Mango Sushi gave a new sushi experience to us.

Red Courtyard is one of the only one authentic Hunan cuisine restaurant located in Penang. Offering authentic Hunan cuisine from chef that originating from Hunan with wealth experience in food and beverage. A lot people confuse Hunan with Sichuan as both do use great amount of chili to showcase their dishes but the main different is Hunan use non process ingredients compare to preserved ingredients use by Sichuan and after tasting Hunan dishes we found no numb feeling, that make Hunan & Sichuan different.
Sour Plum Drink, remember to try this special cook drink as it go through long hour of cooking with many different herb. It taste sweet and sourish with mild herb fragrance.
Special Chili sauce can be added to increase some spicy taste or as dipping sauce. By the way, in order to allow everybody has the chance to try their special made chili sauce, there is 3 different type of chili sauce available for purchase and each bottle cost only RM10 – RM13.
Beef Hotpot RM88, served with Premium Sirloin, Beef Tenderloin, Beef Ball, Emperor Vegetable, Baby Cabbage, White Cabbage, Bean Sprout, Shitake Mushroom & Flat Mushroom. Beef soup are the key element of this dish as a delicious soup make the whole thing perfect. Every scoop are full of surprise as there is so many different beef ingredients in the hotpot.
S.Wine Restaurant is a newly open restaurant at Ground Floor of Queensbay Mall, offering wide range of pork cuisine. This will be my favorite restaurant as everything about pork is always my favorite. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has great visibility from external of Queensbay Mall.
Lemon Honey RM9 with extremely generous slice of Lemon and one big cup of honey.
Warm Pork Confit, Watermelon & Lychee Salad with Asian Greens & SPicy Lemongrass Vinegrette RM38, big chunks of pork belly roasted to perfection served with fresh and crunchy vegetable is just awesome, sweetness of watermelon create a balanced taste between pork and vegetable.
Grilled Pork Neck & Green Mango Salad with Pomelo, Asian Greens & Spicy Salty Lime Dressing RM28, pork neck are nicely marinated to flavor served with assorted fresh vegetable and one of the highlight is the basil leave which has very strong flavor and spicy salty lime dressing taste pretty good.
Chargrilled Jerk Pork Belly, 6 Hour Sous Vide & Served with Lychee Pineapple Salad & Green Goddess Sauce RM30. Pork belly has firm texture and caramelized on the fat layer give a bit of chewy texture, due to the high content of fat hence every single bite are fill with pork lard fragrance.
Farquhar Mansion no doubt one of the best fine dining restaurant located in Penang Island, offering top notch food quality and service. We were greeted at the door and escorted to our table by very nice wait staff. Sometime dining at fine dining restaurant tend to be very serious but i felt comfortable with waitress that serving us like a friends but in a professional way.
Start our first course with “Amuse Bouchee” which consist of 3 different items Potato with cream and black olive, Cod Ball with Bernaise and Potato Noodle and Salmon Skin with Ebiko and Micro Greens, bottom soil are made from crumbled charcoal with ginger.
Ciabatta and Whole Grain Bread with Homemade Butter, Classical Salted Butter, Sun Dried Tomato Butter and Herbs Butter. Even complimentary bread and butter are specially crafted by chef to provide the best, Sun Dried Tomato Butter and Herbs Butter taste are rich in flavor.
Hokkaido Scallop served with Ikura and Ebiko drizzle with truffle oil. We do expect to see a big round scallop served but chef creativity surprise us with thin slice of Hokkaido Scallop, it is perfectly platted with Ikura, Ebiko and Dehydrated Salmon Skin with Edible Gold Flake.
Foie Gras, Apple Chutney, Grape and Orange Sauce. The Foie Gras are perfectly grill to crispy skin with soft and creamy texture inside, it has very strong flavor. Acidity and sweet taste from apple chutney and orange sauce balanced the strong taste of Foie Gras.
