Arrabbita Sauce Pasta at Little Street Cafe

Remember weeks back we share about Little Street Cafe? Ya, we are so excited with their dishes and heard from the owner that recently new menu has been launch so we can’t wait to give it a try. Something interesting on the menu is RM69 for 2 person sharing of Pasta, big bowl of Pasta that came with 3 flavor are so affordable. Other than that we also miss those cute little rabbit, we play too much with them and forgot to take photo.

Organic Cauliflower Soup RM7, i try cauliflower soup before and honestly i quite scare of the green flavor but surprisingly they manage to make the soup taste without the green flavor instead well maintain of the cauliflower sweetness, it is very refreshing and flavorful.

Organic Carrot Soup RM7, well, carrot tends to have very strong flavor but with the right ingredients it became delicious, not too creamy instead the smooth texture is just great.

Honey Lemon Salad, another new flavor but personally we found it to be too sweet, we still prefer the previous wasabi flavor dressing.

One-Pot Seafood Pasta Combo Set for 2pax portion RM69, with choices of Spicy Arrabbita Sauce, Creamy Sauce, White Wine Sauce, came with drink, salad, soup & dessert.
That is the big pot we looking for, we choose Arrabbita Sauce which are Italian spicy sauce with garlic, tomato and red chili pepper. It taste spicy but yet very addictive, served with generous amount of prawn, clam and squid. The Arrabbita sauce perfectly stick on pasta to give a a deep flavor.

Classic Lamb RM28 is one of my favorite dish, extremely thick and creamy mix herbs curry cook long hour with lamb to give a tender yet rich in flavor dish. It goes extremely well with steamed rice as the strong curry taste so delicious.

Salsa Salmon RM26, thick cut fresh salmon pan fried and top with special dressing, it gave a refreshing taste to the delicious salmon. Served with fresh green salad and fries.

Tropicana Chicken RM25, marinated chicken cover with a piece of cheese and tomato based dressing that taste sourish and sweet, big pieces of chicken create well balanced flavor with cheese and tomato sauce.

Vegetable Stock Porridge with Seafood, on our last visit this dish is not release to market but honestly we vote YES to the owner, it taste too good and definitely deserve a spot in menu. Pure vegetable stock use to cook porridge and top with fresh seafood, it is so sweet, sweetness from vegetable and seafood.

Sea Fresh Hot Pot 蒸味鲜 Jalan Macalister

Eating healthy is always good but how do we ensure what we eat are healthy? Well, the simple way is to eat unprocessed food, without sugar, without flavoring, without salt, without MSD…etc. As long as the food is natural then it is healthy for our body. With that said, the best option is to eat something that freshly steamed. We ate in Steamed Seafood Hot Pot 蒸味鲜 at Golden Triangle before and since then we fall in love with simple cooking “Steamed”.

The restaurant located at Jalan Macalister offering big space for dining within two floor, each table are fill with the special steamed cook. It is very simple but super efficient, it took only a few minute to cook meat, seafood and vegetable.

We had apple vinegar drink which direct import from China, it taste sweet and sour. Very appetizing.

We had 4 pax Turbot Fish & Prawn Set RM228 which came with clam 400gram, 4 big scallop, 2 chicken drum stick, assorted vegetable, Japanese tofu, mushroom, siew mai, fuzhou fish ball and rice with pork ribs and dried scallop. The rice, pork ribs and dried scallop will be put at the bottom of steamer and fill up with water, which will eventually fill with meat, seafood and vegetable essence from the steaming process.

Well, if you are condiment lover like we do then you can get whole lot of different condiment for your dipping. We highly recommend 老干妈酱 Lao Gan Ma sauce which is a type of bean paste but it taste extremely good, it goes well with all sort of ingredients even porridge.

Hairy Crab are not included in the menu but if you choose set menu then you can get one for just RM30, hairy crab are seasonal seafood which most likely not available after mid of December so get it while stock last.

Turbot Fish is the signature of the meal, it is high in collagen and omega 3. Pretty rare and expensive fish, but it has very springy texture and sweet taste. It is a must try fish as it taste really really really really good.

The Legend Nyonya House

The Legend Nyonya House as the name suggest Nyonya as their specialize dish with impressive Nyonya dishes all over the menu, restaurant decoration infuse with Nyonya element which gave a very elegant feeling. Situated at Chulia Street Ghaut which right beside The Press and Container Hotel Penang, ample of parking lot available at road side.

Furniture and decoration are from the Nyonya generation, every aspect are well taken care of. It is very comfortable dining inside.

Acar, combination of carrot and cucumber fermented in vinegar and top with crunchy peanut. It taste sourish and sweet.

Pickle Onion, nicely fermented pickled onion taste sweet without spicy taste.

Lemongrass Drink, extremely strong lemongrass with ginger after taste. It has a little bit of spicy taste as well, it is very healthy drinks.

Jiu Hu Char RM18, Special turnip with shredded cuttlefish. It served with a bowl of green coral which can be use to wrap with Jiu Hu Char, it is a perfect combination and i can finish a whole bowl myself.

New Dragon Gate Seafood Village Restaurant

New Dragon Gate Seafood Village Restaurant located behind Viva Food Court (Small alley beside Chinese Swimming Club). As usual they always stock with fresh seafood such as lobster, crab, different kind of fishes and all other type of seafood as well.

金沙蒜焗生蠔 Garlic Butter Baked Oyster, honestly I am not a big fans of oyster as I can’t really find fresh oyster in local market but I am very impress with the way they cook it with garlic and butter that make it taste awesomely good. Oyster are extremely fresh and big in size, it has very smooth texture with milky taste.

干贝鱼汤菌浸时蔬 Stir Fried Vegetable with Dried Scallop and Mushroom, the soup sweet taste extract from fish and dried scallop are very tasty. Topping with fish skin are special and taste good.

风味酱蒸石斑件 Steamed Grouper Fish with Special Sauce, the special sauce taste sweet with soy bean after taste. Slice fish meat is very fresh and sweet but we found the sauce taste a little bit too strong and overpower the fresh fish meat. Continue reading New Dragon Gate Seafood Village Restaurant

Nasi Lemak with Ice Genafo at Eat Scream Restaurant

Nasi lemak served in Eat Scream are originally from owner mother who is Indonesian born Chinese, she is a great chef and running Nasi Lemak business in Indonesia. They have long plan to open up restaurant in Penang and finally on September they lauch Eat Scream that situated in Noordin Road.
Screen though the menu and we found that Nasi Lemak is their main dishes item and another interesting item on menu is definitely the Ice Ganefo which came in 3 form, either served as a drinks, in stick or platters.

Indonesian Nasi Lemak Rendang Ayam RM13.80, sambal ikan bilis, sambal egg, tauco vegetable and signature rendang chicken. First we notice the rice smell different with the absent of strong coconut milk but then we found it has other herb fragrance especially lemongrass, which is actually taste better compare to those nasi lemak that has extremely strong coconut milk taste which make the rice taste too heavy, instead they make the rice fragrance and allow other ingredients to fill the taste. The sambal found on top of the egg are their signature, it taste sweet, sour with mild spiciness. I love the sambal very much as it taste delicious, oh ya, if you love the sambal you can ask for more. Rendang Ayam are nicely cook to soft texture and the strong rending aroma is just awesome.

Indonesian Nasi Lemak Asam Prawn RM13.80, sambal ikan bilis, sambal egg, tauco vegetable and asam prawn. 3 big Asam Prawn are served, prawn are fresh and marinated with great flavor of asam seasoning which taste sour and sweet with a hint of soy sauce.

Egg Lollies with Crabstick RM6.80, egg rolls stuffed with crabstick, served with takoyaki and mayonnaise sauce. For just RM6.80, we got 3 big stick of egg roll that fill with crabstick.
