Ramadan Dinner Buffet The Northam All Suite Hotel Penang 2017

The Northam All Suite Hotel Penang featuring Selera Kampung Ramadan Buffet Dinner start from 2nd to 23rd of June 2017 from 7PM to 10PM. Traditional Kamping dishes such as Kambing Golek, Ulam Ulamam, Rendang Daging and many more traditional recipe will be feature in buffet menu. Buffet held at 9th Floor right beside infinity pool with awesome view of Penang coastline, it will be a memorable event for friends and family.

We follow traditional way of eating Ramadan buffet which is to break fast by eating Dates Fruits first, 8 different type of dates available but we only manage to try 2 which are Tunisia & Safia, Tunisia is coated with a layer of sugar while Safia is dried on outer layer. Both are equally sweet and delicious to get start with.

Moving on to main dish counter, assorted traditional Malay cuisine such as Kacang Panjang Goreng, Sambal Taukua, Sotong Goreng Kunyit, Daging Rendang, Ikan Masak Lemak and many more dishes. Sotong Goreng Kunyit is my favorite as it has very strong Kunyit fragrance and it doesn’t has chewy texture.

Signature of the night is Kambing Golek, whole lamb is perfectly marinated and grilled to perfection. It has very strong flavor on skin and meat are extremely succulent, so delicious that i ate a few plate of it (small plate…).

Red Courtyard Hunan Cuisine Restaurant at King Street Penang

Red Courtyard is one of the only one authentic Hunan cuisine restaurant located in Penang. Offering authentic Hunan cuisine from chef that originating from Hunan with wealth experience in food and beverage. A lot people confuse Hunan with Sichuan as both do use great amount of chili to showcase their dishes but the main different is Hunan use non process ingredients compare to preserved ingredients use by Sichuan and after tasting Hunan dishes we found no numb feeling, that make Hunan & Sichuan different.

Sour Plum Drink, remember to try this special cook drink as it go through long hour of cooking with many different herb. It taste sweet and sourish with mild herb fragrance.

Special Chili sauce can be added to increase some spicy taste or as dipping sauce. By the way, in order to allow everybody has the chance to try their special made chili sauce, there is 3 different type of chili sauce available for purchase and each bottle cost only RM10 – RM13.

Beef Hotpot RM88, served with Premium Sirloin, Beef Tenderloin, Beef Ball, Emperor Vegetable, Baby Cabbage, White Cabbage, Bean Sprout, Shitake Mushroom & Flat Mushroom. Beef soup are the key element of this dish as a delicious soup make the whole thing perfect. Every scoop are full of surprise as there is so many different beef ingredients in the hotpot.

Penang Best Fine Dining Restaurant Farquhar Mansion

Farquhar Mansion no doubt one of the best fine dining restaurant located in Penang Island, offering top notch food quality and service. We were greeted at the door and escorted to our table by very nice wait staff. Sometime dining at fine dining restaurant tend to be very serious but i felt comfortable with waitress that serving us like a friends but in a professional way.

Start our first course with “Amuse Bouchee” which consist of 3 different items Potato with cream and black olive, Cod Ball with Bernaise and Potato Noodle and Salmon Skin with Ebiko and Micro Greens, bottom soil are made from crumbled charcoal with ginger.

Ciabatta and Whole Grain Bread with Homemade Butter, Classical Salted Butter, Sun Dried Tomato Butter and Herbs Butter. Even complimentary bread and butter are specially crafted by chef to provide the best, Sun Dried Tomato Butter and Herbs Butter taste are rich in flavor.

Hokkaido Scallop served with Ikura and Ebiko drizzle with truffle oil. We do expect to see a big round scallop served but chef creativity surprise us with thin slice of Hokkaido Scallop, it is perfectly platted with Ikura, Ebiko and Dehydrated Salmon Skin with Edible Gold Flake.

Foie Gras, Apple Chutney, Grape and Orange Sauce. The Foie Gras are perfectly grill to crispy skin with soft and creamy texture inside, it has very strong flavor. Acidity and sweet taste from apple chutney and orange sauce balanced the strong taste of Foie Gras.

Hurray! I am a serious fried chicken lover and so excited that Texas Chicken finally landed in Penang. Located at the lower ground of 1st Avenue Mall, it was crowded on their grand opening day. Texas Chicken founded in San Antonio, Texas, USA in 1952. On the menu, other than fried chicken there is option for burger, wrap and various dessert as well.

Long queue on opening day, a series of promotion available such as on 21 January Free 3 pcs of tender chicken for first 50 customers only while 22 January Free 1 tender wrap for first 50 customer.

Szechuan Flavor Fortune Chicken is special edition available on certain period only, it is coated with a layer of rich flavor yet spicy flour that make the chicken skin crunchy yet flavorful. Other than that we had the Honey Butter Biscuits, Mexicana Burger and Chocolate Valcano.

What so special about Texas Chicken compare to competitor are their chicken cut into 8 pieces instead of 9 pieces, that result in bigger piece chicken. Looking at the chicken that we had, it is so big that fill up two hand. What surprise us is the juiciness of chicken, even though we had chicken breast but it taste so soft and juicy.

Mexicana Burger are really impressive, first the size that give us a wow factor, second, the big piece of chicken that is even bigger than the burger, third, nacho inside! Arrabbita Sauce Pasta at Little Street Cafe

Remember weeks back we share about Little Street Cafe? Ya, we are so excited with their dishes and heard from the owner that recently new menu has been launch so we can’t wait to give it a try. Something interesting on the menu is RM69 for 2 person sharing of Pasta, big bowl of Pasta that came with 3 flavor are so affordable. Other than that we also miss those cute little rabbit, we play too much with them and forgot to take photo.

Organic Cauliflower Soup RM7, i try cauliflower soup before and honestly i quite scare of the green flavor but surprisingly they manage to make the soup taste without the green flavor instead well maintain of the cauliflower sweetness, it is very refreshing and flavorful.

Organic Carrot Soup RM7, well, carrot tends to have very strong flavor but with the right ingredients it became delicious, not too creamy instead the smooth texture is just great.

Honey Lemon Salad, another new flavor but personally we found it to be too sweet, we still prefer the previous wasabi flavor dressing.

One-Pot Seafood Pasta Combo Set for 2pax portion RM69, with choices of Spicy Arrabbita Sauce, Creamy Sauce, White Wine Sauce, came with drink, salad, soup & dessert.
That is the big pot we looking for, we choose Arrabbita Sauce which are Italian spicy sauce with garlic, tomato and red chili pepper. It taste spicy but yet very addictive, served with generous amount of prawn, clam and squid. The Arrabbita sauce perfectly stick on pasta to give a a deep flavor.

Classic Lamb RM28 is one of my favorite dish, extremely thick and creamy mix herbs curry cook long hour with lamb to give a tender yet rich in flavor dish. It goes extremely well with steamed rice as the strong curry taste so delicious.

Salsa Salmon RM26, thick cut fresh salmon pan fried and top with special dressing, it gave a refreshing taste to the delicious salmon. Served with fresh green salad and fries.

Tropicana Chicken RM25, marinated chicken cover with a piece of cheese and tomato based dressing that taste sourish and sweet, big pieces of chicken create well balanced flavor with cheese and tomato sauce.

Vegetable Stock Porridge with Seafood, on our last visit this dish is not release to market but honestly we vote YES to the owner, it taste too good and definitely deserve a spot in menu. Pure vegetable stock use to cook porridge and top with fresh seafood, it is so sweet, sweetness from vegetable and seafood.
