Sesame + Soy is a Pan Asian Chinese Cuisine restaurant that offers luxurious new dining experience specialty on Chinese Cuisine. It also one of the very rare Chinese Fine Dining restaurant in town, Sesame + Soy consists of two spacious dining rooms, each with stylish interiors. Soy comes across as a modern Asian bistro while Soy is more formal, decorated in more luxury feel.
We dine in Sesame and we really enjoy the cozy environment, understand from the PR Manager Christina Sesame is offering wedding dinner as well but it more toward private event as limited table can be allocated in the restaurant.
Watermelon Pudina thirst quenching blend of iced watermelon and pineapple juice, infused with fresh mint leaves for a cool after taste. Even though it has pineapple blended but it present in flavor is too mild that can be ignored but the strong mints leave making great combination with watermelon.
We started with Sesame’s treasure combination with smoked duck breast, fruit tart with raspberry dressing and fresh scallop skewer with baked mashed sweet potato. The Sesame Treasure come with lot of surprise as lot of different ingredients are mix together such as raspberry, mango and smoked duck breast, it taste sweet, sour and sautéed.
Braised Golden Superior Broth with Seafood Dumpling, the golden color soup is actually essence extracted from pumpkin which taste very fresh and delicious. The dumpling fill with seafood such as sea cucumber, crab meat and fish maw.
Pan-seared Chicken with “Xi Shi” Sauce and Asparagus in Cream sauce with Baby Carrot and Edible Flower. The deep fried chicken is crispy and succulent, Xi Shi sauce taste sour and pretty spicy. Flower that not only for decoration instead it is edible.
Grilled Blue River Prawn in Korean Spice accompanied by Marmite Sauce. Extremely well food decoration, half cut of blue river prawn grilled to perfection with Korea Spice which taste spicy and sautéed.
Wok Fried Diced Salmon with Brown Bean Sauce with Crispy Corn Cake. Salmon cut into small pieces and cook with sweet and sour sauce served together with corn cake, as the food served too early the corn cake has become hard and chewy.
Crunchy Jack Fruit Kataifi Roll with Honey and Chinese Herbal Jelly with Jamoca Almond Fudge Ice Cream
Crunchy Jack Fruit Kataifi Roll, Kataifi is sherred wheat pastry that look like bird nest which has a soft and crunchy texture.
Let me introduce the man behind the scene that prepare our lunch, Chef Chiam. Chef Chiam is very particular on food preparation, he emphasize on food presentation hence food served on plate must be nice and pretty.
