China House famous for their signature cake”S”, I mean a lot of cake. No doubt that it is one of the best cake shop in Penang and we had the impression that China House only served cake with drink but we are completely wrong, they do have awesome menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well.
Although the outlook of the shop look small but inside is actually very long with 3 connected area, right after the entrance is drinks counter with a couple of table and one table fill up with cakes, further down the hall is another seating area with book and some antique, follow through is an outdoor decoration pool and last area is a wine bar.
We had Lychee Cucumber Soda RM12.80 and Hot Latte RM12.80. Lychee Cucumber Soda are extremely refreshing especially on hot day, cucumber green and fresh taste mix extremely well with lychee and soda, it taste very good.
Ministrone & Chickpea Soup of quinoa, leek, fennel, pumpkin & beans with Chimichurri Pesto and Cheesy Focaccia RM20. We are impress with the rich flavor of soup, taste sourish and add on with the cheese slice provided making it taste even better. Cheesy Focaccia are really impressive, crunchy with strong butter fragrance.
Pizza of the Day RM29, crispy tortilla topped with chicken pepperoni, pineapple, capsicum and cheese. Tortilla are healthier compare to pizza dough and with it thickness, it is much more crispy as well. Topping with simple ingredients is good enough to make a good pizza, saltiness of chicken pepperoni and cheese mix with sweet pineapple is just awesome.
重庆老火锅 Kelawai Chong Qing Lao Huo Guo Georgetown located along Jalan Kelawai situated in a bungalow, ample of car park available in front of the restaurant. Inside of the restaurant are nicely decorated with Chinese theme with a small “river”. Our first impression one Chong Qing Steamboat is all about spicy but here they not only offer Steamboat instead Dry Pot, a-la-cart dishes and BBQ are also available.
RM2 per head for dipping sauce & fruits. More than 30 different type of dipping sauce available, it just too many to name all. The combination can be as many as you want but in order to get a good bowl of dipping sauce we found Sesame Sauce, Coriander, Garlic and Sesame is a must. Unlimited supply of watermelon or other fruits of the days.
If you are big fans of Chong Qing cuisine, try to grab some Chong Qing snack and instant noodle. We try Chong Qing instant noodle before and it taste really good, spicy with super “q” noodle.
We had twin pot with 干锅螃蟹 Hot “Dry Pot” with Flower Crab – Market Price and 药膳菌菇鸡汤 Herbal Mushroom Soup RM12.50. Dry Pot are filled with fresh flower crab, potato, onion, spices and chili. Crab fully absorb the spice and chili fragrance, it taste quite spicy with a little bit of numb feeling. After enjoying crab they will then pour in spicy soup for steamboat. Herbal Mushroom Soup taste a little bit sweet, it is good for those who doesn’t prefer spicy.
重庆水煮鱼 Chong Qing Boiled Fish RM48 is one of the signature classic food from Chong Qing, it has over 100 years of history. Fish are sliced into big pieces then cook with hot chili oil and soup with assorted vegetable. Fish meat are very soft and delicious.
十三香小龙虾 Spicy Crayfish RM79, cooking with spices and chili. Crayfish shell already pre-cut in the middle so taking out crayfish meat pretty easy, it taste spicy and numb, be remind that it is very addictive, we just can’t stop after eating.
On top of Steamboat, over 30+ ingredients available for barbecue as well. We highly recommend Mutton as it perfectly season to flavor with strong cumin fragrance. If you love mushroom, Bacon Enoki and Matsutake Mushroom is a must order, seasoning powder taste very good with juicy mushroom.

We try all handmade ball and we found that beef ball is the best, it has chewy texture with strong beef fragrance. Black color Cuttlefish Ball are very special as well. Scallop are very big in size and fresh. Slice meat are thicker compare to others, it is a great way to enjoy dipping sauce with slice meat.
Sushi Kitchen Restaurant offer healthy food, emphasize on healthy eating with fresh ingredients. Sushi Kitchen has few branches around Penang and Gurney Plaza is one of the latest branch which start operation since last year.
Food ingredients are soaked in enzymes for 45 minutes before cooking.

Vegetable Hand Roll RM8, freshly roasted Japanese premium seaweed roll with assorted fresh and crunchy vegetable, topping with homemade vegan mayonnaise and G-ken floss. Seaweed are extremely crispy and what make hand roll taste good is the homemade mayonnaise, it has a bit of sour and sweet taste.
Happiness Family RM36, 16 pieces sushi that consists of G-Ken Floss Sushi, Rainbow Maki, Global Warning Maki, Inari, Chuka Wakame Gunkan. Japanese rice are use and it has very nice texture with vinegar fragrance. Deep Fried Sushi is one of their signature as it has extra crispiness.
Mango Sushi are seasonal menu item as Mango are not available throughout the year. Honestly this is a piece of art, it look gorgeous. Sushi wrapped with carrot, cucumber & G-Ken floss. Sour and Sweet Mango Sushi gave a new sushi experience to us.

Red Courtyard is one of the only one authentic Hunan cuisine restaurant located in Penang. Offering authentic Hunan cuisine from chef that originating from Hunan with wealth experience in food and beverage. A lot people confuse Hunan with Sichuan as both do use great amount of chili to showcase their dishes but the main different is Hunan use non process ingredients compare to preserved ingredients use by Sichuan and after tasting Hunan dishes we found no numb feeling, that make Hunan & Sichuan different.
Sour Plum Drink, remember to try this special cook drink as it go through long hour of cooking with many different herb. It taste sweet and sourish with mild herb fragrance.
Special Chili sauce can be added to increase some spicy taste or as dipping sauce. By the way, in order to allow everybody has the chance to try their special made chili sauce, there is 3 different type of chili sauce available for purchase and each bottle cost only RM10 – RM13.
Beef Hotpot RM88, served with Premium Sirloin, Beef Tenderloin, Beef Ball, Emperor Vegetable, Baby Cabbage, White Cabbage, Bean Sprout, Shitake Mushroom & Flat Mushroom. Beef soup are the key element of this dish as a delicious soup make the whole thing perfect. Every scoop are full of surprise as there is so many different beef ingredients in the hotpot.
S.Wine Restaurant is a newly open restaurant at Ground Floor of Queensbay Mall, offering wide range of pork cuisine. This will be my favorite restaurant as everything about pork is always my favorite. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has great visibility from external of Queensbay Mall.

Warm Pork Confit, Watermelon & Lychee Salad with Asian Greens & SPicy Lemongrass Vinegrette RM38, big chunks of pork belly roasted to perfection served with fresh and crunchy vegetable is just awesome, sweetness of watermelon create a balanced taste between pork and vegetable.
Grilled Pork Neck & Green Mango Salad with Pomelo, Asian Greens & Spicy Salty Lime Dressing RM28, pork neck are nicely marinated to flavor served with assorted fresh vegetable and one of the highlight is the basil leave which has very strong flavor and spicy salty lime dressing taste pretty good.
Chargrilled Jerk Pork Belly, 6 Hour Sous Vide & Served with Lychee Pineapple Salad & Green Goddess Sauce RM30. Pork belly has firm texture and caramelized on the fat layer give a bit of chewy texture, due to the high content of fat hence every single bite are fill with pork lard fragrance.
