Gurney Paragon extend their food court to even bigger and more vendor, with that said, more food variety are now available at one of the best food court in Penang mall. Great variety of hawker food can be found here such as Laksa, Lobak, Chicken Rice…etc, other than that Korean Food, Japanese Food, Mediterranean Food, Chinese Food, Thai Food…etc all available here.

Appetizer such as Cup type Jiu Hu Char that has crispy cup that hold stir fried vegetable with dried squid, the cup itself is edible and it taste real good.

Another appetizer is Popiah, deep fried to crispy skin and dipping with chili sauce is the best.

Roasted pork that is juicy with crispy skin, it has the right level of saltiness and best to eat together with Char Koay Teow.

Yummy Yummy Char Koay Teow, Penang signature hawker food that should not miss. Normally food court Char Koay Teow taste just normal but the one found here are pretty good, i won’t say the best but it is a decent one.

Welcome to The BARN Gurney Paragon, we are getting excited today with the limited offer of Tomahawk Steak. What so special? That steak as big as Axe and as heavy as well, it weight almost 1kg. Candy Bacon Platter RM29, generous amount of nice crispy bacon coat with a layer of sweet sauce. I love it so much.

Tapas Combo Platter RM68, a combination of Satay, Ham, Potato Wedges, Button Mushroom, Roasted Pork and Chicken Wing. Best tapas to goes along with beer, a plate of Tapas Combo is good enough for sharing with a couple of friend with a few cup of beer. Deep fried Button Mushroom taste awesome, it is something special that we never try before. Other deep fried items are as good, not greasy at all.

Cheese Platter RM45, two different type of cheese, assorted dried fruits, grape, celery and biscuit combination. Well, we found the cheese to be too generous as we 9 person only consume half of it, it will be good if more biscuit provided as applying a thick layer of cheese with add on dried fruits on top of biscuit is perfect combination. The BAR°N at Gurney Plaza Penang

The BAR°N first outlet outside of KL are now opening at Gurney Plaza Penang, the bar and restaurant serving not only great variety of food with local influence dishes but also wide range of wine and other alcoholic drinks. The BAR°N occupying the shop lot which previously run by Chicago Ribs House, now it has a brand new renovation that demonstrated simple and relax environment. Outdoor seating are available along with other restaurant on gurney walkway between gurney plaza and gurney hotel, we prefer to sit inside with air-conditional and comfortable chair. One side of the wall are fill with wine collection, to those wine lover this must be heaven.

The BAR°N menu consist of only two pages but it pack a punch of food, it has pretty much everything about Western/Italian food and next page are full with alcoholic drink Cocktail, Beer, Wine and Mocktails.

Being a loyal customer to Soul Cafe we always get to try their newly launch menu, they never disappointing us with their creativity and tastiness. Today we going to try a couple new item such as French Kiss drinks, two new appetizer and two new main course. French Kiss RM12, A special mocktail blended with ceylon black tea, french rose, sour plum and honey. This is a rather special drink that taste extremely smooth and flavorful, a little bit of sourness from plum with sweetness from honey create a balanced yet unique taste.

Mushroom Soup RM16, fresh portobello, butoon and shimeji mushroom, slow cook in vegetable stock, final touch with cream and served with toasted baguette on the side. Generous portion of mushroom soup, creamy texture with strong mushroom fragrance.

Chorizo e Vongole Stufato RM35, 1/2kg local fresh clams and chorizo sausage tossed in homemade tomato sauce and white wine, drop of chorizo oil, topped with rockets and served with toasted baguette on the side. Yummy to the max, no doubt clams is extremely fresh as they get it from local market daily, sauce taste extremely flavorful and we wish to ask for a bowl of rice to eat this together.

Fungo Marinato RM15, Mixed fresh mushroom sauteed with herbs and white wine, topped with poached egg, micro greens, extra virgin olive oil and served with toasted baguette on the side. Assorted mushroom are nicely sauteed to flavor, tossing together with poached egg make it taste awesome.

Spaghetti con pencetta RM23, Spaghetti tossed in olive oil, garlic, onion, black pepper, black olive, cherry tomato, mushroom, smoked bacon, chorizo oil, italian parsley, drizzle of extra virgin oil and topped with Grana Padano Cheese. Spaghetti cook to el-dente texture and with so many ingredients it create a rich and flavorful taste, smoked bacon play a key role as it gave a salty flavor that enhance the overall flavor.

Coscia di Pollo Burger RM22, Grilled whole chicken leg seasoned with mixed herbs and topped with melt cheddar cheese, fresh tomato slices and rockets, house salad and potato fries on the side. English muffin use to replace typical burger bun which has better texture and the big size chicken leg make it so big and hard to bite, but that is what I like about burger. Burger have to be big enough to create some level of satisfaction. Sauce added in burger are slightly lack of flavor and personally i would suggest to add on some vegetable in it to create crunchy texture.

Gula Melaka Cheese Cake are nicely decorate with Doraemon. What a lovely art! The cake is very smooth in texture with a hint of gula melaka sweetness.

Creme Brulee, soft and creamy inside cover with sugar crust and served with raspberry jam. Sweet and sour dessert is always the best combination.
