Hard Rock Cafe Penang

Hard Rock Café Penang is one of the famous restaurant located at Batu Ferringhi area which has an special menu on April where 13 new dishes will launch. Among the 13 new dishes there are a couple of Asian dishes that newly created such as Ferringhi Ikan Bakar, Tom Yam Seafood Linguine and The Legendary Percik Burger.

Strawberry Basil Lemonade RM26.00, Pint Glass RM85.00, Fresh strawberries and basil muddled together with lemonade. Sour and Sweet drink is extremely appetite while the basil leave make the drink extremely presentable.

Blues Riff Lemonade RM 45.00, SMIRNOFF Vodka, Blue Curacao, Ginger Liqueur and made from scratch lemonade topped with club soda. Should I call this girl drink? Ya, it indeed a girl drink which sweet in taste with mild alcoholic taste, you can easily drunk as you won’t realize you drink a lot as it is extremely smooth.

Smokehouse Chopped Salad RM 35.00, freshly chop mixed field greens tossed with diced smoked chicken, turkey bacon & spiced pecans, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo with smoky citrus vinaigrette and
topped with fresh sliced avocado. The assorted vegetable is crunchy together with spiced pecans making it great in texture and flavor.

Ferringhi Ikan Bakar RM30.00, baked Seabass filet with Portuguese spicy sauce wrapped with banana leaf. Served with acar rampai and steamed rice. Seabass filet is grilled with banana leaf top with extremely spicy sauce, I am surprise by the level of spiciness as I thought they would make it less spicy to cater foreigner taste bud but we are wrong as it is so spicy that spicy lover like us also surrender. So for spicy lover, go challenge yourself a plate of Ferringhi Ikan Bakar.

Seafood Spaghetti RM 35.00, assorted fresh seafood simmered in homemade fresh tomato. Served on a bed of buttered spaghetti and garlic toast. Rich flavor tomato paste mix with spaghetti and fresh seafood, garlic toast is crunchy and surprisingly match with the spaghetti.

Tom Yam Seafood Lunguine RM 30.00, hot and spicy, Wok-fried pasta with spicy tom yam sauce accompany by succulent seafood and fresh vegetables. Have you try Tom Yam Spaghetti before? No? Let try it at Hard Rock Café, it not really Tom Yam sour and spicy flavor instead it taste sautéed and and a little bit spicy.

Vegetarian Seasonal Vegetable RM 25.00, stir fried seasonal vegetables with garlic and vegetarian oyster sauce. Served with fried vegetarian prawns, fried bean curd and steamed rice. This is specially made to cater vegetarian eater.

BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwich RM 28.00, hand-pulled in-house smoked chickens, which is tender and juicy. Served on a toasted Ciabatta bun topped with Hickory Bar-B-Que sauce and creamy coleslaw. Sideline served with ranch beans, cole slaw and seasoned fries. If you try pull pork burger before then you should know how this pull chicken about, best thing is BBQ Pull Chicken Sandwich has even better texture which is much more soft and juicy.

South Carolina RM 30.00, tangy homemade South Carolina style mustard Bar-B-Que sauce with crispy slaw and onions. The many ingredients in the big burger gave a complex texture but the mixture of assorted ingredient is so delicious.

The Texan RM 33.00, Chipotle and Hickory Bar-B-Que sauce, cheddar cheese, crispy jalapenos and crispy onions in one big burger. Go big & make it a 10oz. Bar-B-Que sandwich - add RM10.

Legendary “PERCIK” Burger RM 48.00 , mouth watering juicy burger, basted with a paste of Malaysian spices, topped with cucumber slices and fried onion straws. Looking for original Malaysia style burger? Yes, it is available here but the patty is totally different as it almost double, triple or even more than the normal size of patty meat. The patty slightly dry but the percik taste gave it extra flavor.

Mud Pie RM 35.00, Cookie crust filled with a heavenly concoction of coffee and chocolate ice cream topped with hot fudge and crunchy almond flakes. Whole lot of almond flakes on top of the Haagen Dazs Ice Cream with a layer of cookie crust at the bottom, it has the ultimate crunchy, smooth, soft, crunchy combination. It is extremely worth the value as the portion is big and the famous Haagan Dazs is covering the whole plate.

Ferringhi Garden Romantic Environment Restaurant

Our last visit to Ferringhi Garden Restaurant was 2010 and we had extremely good memory, Ferringhi Garden serving good food with great environment. We return again after two year and this time we are going to try more dishes.

Baked Mushroom RM18.80, two big size of mushroom marinated and baked to perfection, it is very juicy and flavorful.

Mixed Loaf RM10.80 is a combine of garlic and tomato loaf served with two different sauce which is sour cream sauce and tomato sauce. The combination of both sauce is pretty delicious.

Chicken Chop RM32.80, deep fried crispy chicken served with mushroom gravy, chicken meat is extremely juicy and delicious.

Char Grill Salmon RM53.80, very thick cut salmon grilled to perfection with a layer of crunchy skin served with baked potato, salmon doesn’t has any fishy taste instead it is very delicious.

Lemon Garlic Chicken RM34.80, one whole big piece of chicken breast top with lemon sauce served with one big portion of mashed potato. If you are chicken breast lover then this will be your favorite because the big chunk of chicken meat is very juicy.

Grilled Chicken RM34.80 whole chicken leg grilled and serve on top of assorted grilled vegetable, the grilled chicken slightly overcook and dry inside.

Beef Burger RM28.80, warming to those who has a small mouth as this definitely too big for you because even big mouth like me also having problem enjoy it in bite, the patty is extremely thick and juicy, the meat juice just flown out from it and the combination of bacon, egg and cheese is just awesome.

Crepe Suzette RM20.80, flour made dessert served with extremely sweet syrup which is totally disappointed, it was way too sweet.

Overall we are satisfy with the food but the dessert is very disappointing, it was way too sweet.

Special Charcoal Burger at New York Pizza

New York Pizza located at Jalan Sungai Dua which is exactly the same row as Pelita Nasi Kandar. Offering wide range of Pizza and special homemade charcoal burger, they do offer delivery service for certain area as well. Today we going to try a series of items such as appetizer, pizza and for sure the famous charcoal burger.

Chili Wings is pretty spicy but we like the spiciness which make our tongue numb a little bit, BBQ Chicken Wings has a little bit sour and sweet taste while the Sweet Thai Wings is our favorite which has the sweet and spicy taste.

Talking about New York Pizza, they offer 4 range of Pizza which is Favorite, Supreme, Seafood and Vegetable. Total up around 20 different type of pizza available for selection and you some are thin crust while other are normal. Pizza freshly made and served hot on table.

Sea Food Series - Pearl Harbor, Personal RM9.90/ Regular RM25/ Large RM35, use of seaweed, crab stick, pineapple and cheese making this pizza very delicious.

Overall Pizza is flavorful and the crust is crispy, most of the pizza use pineapple as key ingredients and mixture of assorted cheese into pizza is delicious.

Charcoal Burger with drinks and fries RM10, you have option to choose either chicken or beef patty. The specialty of the burger is definitely the charcoal made bun which is fluffy and special, you don’t have to worry that I will have weird smell instead it is exactly the same flavor as normal bun just that the color and nutrition in it different. Both Chicken and Beef patty is very delicious, personally I like the beef patty as the patty is very thick and I am beef lover.

Dome Café is originated in Perth, Australia that pioneer the café culture in Malaysia since 1995, up to date they have a total of 14 outlet across the country. Dome Café not only famous for it signature café instead they do served lot of delicious food as well such as sandwiches, pasta, burger and desserts.

Dome Café Appetizer, deep fried fish fillet, calamari and prawn served with various sauce.

Seafood Chowder served with two Garlic Bread, chowder is cream based soup which extracted the sweetness from various seafood such as clam, oyster, prawn…etc, additional use of barley and corn help to increase it sweetness.

Gourmet Chicken Pie, a home style chicken and mushroom filling topped with a golden pastry cap and served in a porcelain bowl. Served with sautéed vegetables.

Wheat Sandwich with Smoked Salmon served with Deep Fried Wedges. Thick cut of smoked salmon with crunchy vegetable.

The Lot Burger, grilled 100% beef burger with egg, beef bacon, cos lettuce, tamota relish, sliced cheddar, mustard mayonnaise and fresh tomato in a toasted focaccia bun, served with chips.

Best Pork Burger at 43 Cafe

43 Café is well known for its Pork Burger, it is one of the USM student favorite place for dinner as well. 43 Café is not operated in any form of fancy decoration restaurant instead it just normal house hold and that the reason they manage to drive the cost and offer a very reasonable price for their food.

Egg Pecah Toast RM2, it is one of the many Chung Ling High School student favorite as it is so famous among us. The egg is stir fried with chili paste and soy sauce which then serve on top of toast, it is so delicious.

Tomato Plum Juice RM3.50, don’t be shock by the price as it is pure juice and lot of tomato use to blend this much of juice, added with plum making it taste sour and sweet, it is very refreshing. It is a must try drink and we indeed drink two cup as it is too good.

Soup of the day RM3, during our visit the soup of the day is carrot soup which came with garlic bread. When you first taste the soup it taste very close to pumpkin rather than carrot juice, we like it so much as we scare it has raw carrot flavor but luckily it doesn’t have that flavor and indeed it taste very good.

Original Double Trouble Pork Burger with Bacon RM8, I am shock when I has the first bite on the burger, the pork meat is so juicy and soft, it is totally different texture compare to burger outside which normally taste dry and hard but 43 café pork meat is so delicious and flavorful. On top of that the combination of cheese and bacon making it taste even better, together with fresh and crunchy vegetable making the overall texture very good.

BBQ Pork Burger RM5.50, it use the similar pork meat that we had above but the sauce for this burger is BBQ sauce, it taste sweeter compare to above but still very juicy and delicious.

On top of the various flavor burger, the owner is preparing a very special burger that I only ate once in US before that is pull pork burger, I am surprise by his creativity to create this burger. It not on the menu yet but going to sale soon, pull pork burger is shredded pork meat with sweet sauce then served with burger bread. the pull pork burger still in research stage and it slightly too watery but I believe once the actual production burger release it will be taste very good.

Satay RM1 each, it is chicken breast satay and it totally homemade, it doesn’t use skin in between like other satay instead the whole piece of chicken breast is stick on and cook with homemade sauce. It taste sweet and succulent, we did actually ordered extra as it just too good.

We will then served with three cup of ice cream which cost RM6 each with 2 scoops. Initially I thought they serve us with some Kings brand of ice cream but we are totally wrong, the owner told us all type of ice cream sale here are homemade and unique as you can’t get it outside. We had here is Panda, Malta and Caramel Ribena, we are shock then we first taste the ice cream as it doesn’t lost to haagan daaz or baskin robin, the purity and taste is so rich.

It is one of the best pork burger I ever had before and highly recommended, I can’t wait for it pull pork burger which I know for sure will taste very good.
