Uncle Jang Dak Galbi Elite Avenue

Uncle Jang Dak Galbi finally open up it first Penang Branch at Elite Avenue, last year when we visit KL we still plan to visit Uncle Jang but due to rush schedule we end up not able to make it. Now, we can easily visit Uncle Jang. Minimum order of 2 portion with RM21 (Original Spicy) or RM22 (Super Spicy) per person. Various add on available such as Ramen, Udong, Mushroom, Cheese, Cheese Rice Cake, Sweet Potato, Rice Cake, Fried Rice, Egg, or extra Chicken. We recommend to add Ramen and Cheese as both combine with Dak Galbi is the best combination. The Dak Galbi taste a little bit spicy compare to other but the generous amount of vegetable balanced it spiciness. Portion is pretty big as well, especially with the free refill lettuce we can keep asking for more to fill our stomach. We order extra ginseng chicken and that is extremely disappointing, it doesn’t has any ginseng flavor at all and the chicken is quite dry.

K-Pot Kkang Tong Korean Grill Buffet

It been quite sometime since #FATastic full force out for dinner together, finally Miss.Hobo not “busy” and got free time to dine with us, together with Jazz/Trista and HuiHui/DaXiong, 7 of us visitted K-Pot Kkang Tong Korean Buffet. Why recently our gathering must be in Korean restaurant? why? em…..Korean food has become the trend now, there is more and more new restaurant coming up such as Kim Korean Restaurant, HangSeng…etc.

K-Pot Kkang Tong Korean Grill Buffet cost RM38.88 for adult, RM18.88 for children below 12 years old while kids below 4 years old are free. Remember to make reservation as 99% walk in customer can’t get table due to the overwhelming respond. Dining are limited to 2 hours but honestly if continuously eating meat for 2 hours is definitely more than enough. Even #FATastic also eat for 1hour 45minutes only.
Kkang Tong Korean Grill Buffet

The restaurant is spaces with open air but without air-con, it is quite hot while barbeque~ing and without proper exhaust fan it is extremely smelly, sitting near the fence still ok but sitting in the center are extremely uncomfortable.
Kkang Tong Korean Grill Buffet

Drinks are not included but we found the price to be reasonable, mineral water for RM1.50 while soft drinks for RM3. Green tea RM3 but refillable.
Kkang Tong Korean Grill Buffet

Some Korean dishes can be side order for just RM8.80.

Kim’s Korean Restaurant Penang

Good news to Korean Food lover, we are one of them. We really enjoy eating Korean food especially Daore Korean Restaurant, now we got one more choice which is Kim’s Korea Restaurant. The restaurant is nicely decorated to very comfortable, they use some kind of advance induction cooker which doesn’t create any smoke during cooking, NICE!

Ttok-Bokki RM20, Spicy Stir Fried Rice Cake with assorted vegetable and fish cake in Gochujung based sauce. The spicy sauce is really good in taste, sweet yet spicy. The fish cake taste really good, same goes to the rice cake that is nicely cook to soft yet chewy texture.

Bibimbap RM22, bibimbap consists of a bowl of rice topped with fresh and cooked vegetable, a fried egg and Gochujang based sauce. Combination of cucumber, carrot, bean sprout, mushroom, egg and crab meat mixed with Korean spicy sauce, the sauce given was not enough which make it lack of taste.

Kimchi-Jeongol RM49, Kimchi Hot Pot. A dish of broth Kimchi pork meat, noodle, dumpling, vegetable and a variety of seasoning and spices cooked at the table in a pot. The soup is extremely thick and strong in flavor, whole lot of kimchi found in it.
Kimchi-Jeongol

Chuncheon Dakgalbi RM30 per person, spicy stir fried marinated chicken with cabbage, onion, sweet potato and rice cake in a spicy red-chili sauce.
RM30 per person seem to be slightly higher compare to other Korean restaurant but the portion well justify the price. You can order 2 portion for 3 person with add on rice and cheese. My friends say that it taste even better than the famous Uncle Jang, which i will be visit very soon.

Fresh Fruit Juice, assorted fresh fruits mix and match. Highly recommended the Dragon Fruits mixed with Apple and Orange, although the price is slightly on the high side but consider the amount of fresh fruit blended it still worth the value.

Sukhothai is one of our favorite restaurant for beef noodle, we start visited their shop since day 1 their established business at Burma Road.
Beef Noodle never disappointed us, it has great beef aroma and the beef meat is to tender and delicious.

Char Koay Teow, a big surprise to us. We never expect the Char Koay Teow to be that authentic consider the lack of pork lard, the big portion of Char Koay Teow is so delicious.
