We had Fish Roe Fried Rice, lot of fish roe covering the fried rice, well presented and fried rice fragrance is just awesome. It is very delicious as the fried rice has enough heat “wok hey” and the additional fish roe given a very special texture, taken together with the chili paste provided is even better.

Cheesy Curry Fish Ball, lot of cheese covering curry fish ball, the fish ball is not absorbing the curry if they will to cut it before cook that will for sure make this dish taste much better.

Which Dim Sum Restaurant To Go in Ipoh

We just visit Foh San last month but no review was done, within a month time we return again and this time we want to share with you why we always choose Foh San instead of Yoke Fook Moon and Ming Court .

Let start with the environment, Foh San is spaces and two storey restaurant while the others is just small and very pack. Table layout in Foh San as well more spaces and less table sharing needed, but sometime it still hard to look for table especially during school holiday or public holiday.
Foh San Dim Sum Ipoh

Cleanliness wise they did very well also, at least I don’t see dirty floor and utensil. They have advantage over other due to the new building, which has floor tile and bright lighting.

Dim Sum Garden Melaka

Our last meal before leaving Melaka is enjoying Dim Sum that nearby our hotel, Dim Sum Garden Melaka. Big restaurant with few shop lot, crowded with people during out visit.
As long as there is Chinese, Dim Sum is a must place for breakfast or we called it Yum Cha as well, normally all the Dim Sum dishes served is deep fried or steamed and most of it does include lot of meat hence a cup of tea will help for proper digest.
As our lovely reader I believe you enjoy reading our review for Dim Sum as we have review many Dim Sum restaurant over the past year, here is another add on to our long list.

Prawn Dumpling, prawn wrapped in a translucent rice flour and steamed. The skin is a little bit hard and cold, probably it was not heated.

Siew Mai is made from pork and prawn mince and steamed. Siew Mai is tender and flavorful, taste good.

Phoenix Leg is the type of my favorite, where Phoenix leg is steamed with sweet sauce and the skin is easily off from the bone, taste just good.

Steamed Pork Ribs with fermented black bean and chili.

Preserved Egg with pickled ginger is our favorite dish on Lok Lok station but we found it here, it was quite a surprise and the first time.

Chee Cheong Fun, steamed rice noodle roll with soy sauce and chili paste. Chee Cheong Fun is soft and not sticky, sauce is sweet and delicious

Char Siew Pao, fluffy bun made from wheat flour fill with Char Siew, Char Siew is really delicious and it was fully fill into the bun.

Deep Fried Dumpling is my favorite, enjoy the crispy skin and meat inside.

Deep Fried Prawn Roll, taste good as well.

Overall Dim Sum Garden food taste good with reasonable price.

Ipoh Foh San Dim Sum富山茶楼

Finally we got a chance to complete our review for Ipoh Dim Sum Street, Yoke Fook Moon and Ming Court and now Foh San Dim Sum富山茶楼. In a short distance road there is three big player content for best Dim Sum and finally we can make our final judgment on which is the best.
Foh San is no doubt the most popular and the biggest restaurant after they migrate to new two story building shop lot.
Tea pot set is new and clean.

Chili paste use in Ipoh is different from Penang, where Penang Chili paste use to be sweet chili paste instead here is sour with little spicy paste.

Egg Tart RM3.20, Egg Tart outer casing short crust pastry has many layer of crispy crust and delicious lovely egg custard.

Prawn Roll is a must try dim sum as it served immediate after cook from kitchen, people are queuing for it and most of the people get not only one plate. Skin is crispy and thin while the prawn tender soft.

Siew Mai RM3.80 is really delicious, pork mince and prawn is nicely mix together and steamed to create a soft texture.

Fish Ball soft and taste good.

Pork meat with preserved egg, pork mince is soft and flavorful.

Char Siew Pao RM3.20, fluffy bun with Char Siew in it, what special no Foh San Char Siew is they added parsley in it, certain people not really like it.

Double Skin Steamed Milk RM3.80, we had this in Macau where it is very famous, delicious and memorable. Foh San version is way far to achieve that standard as the steamed milk doesn’t has milk flavor instead full of ginger flavor.

Liu Sha Pao, it taste just normal and the filling is not much as well.

Loh Mai Kai RM4.50, ingredient of Sausage, Chicken Meat, Mushroom and Glutinous rice. It taste not bad but the rice is a little bit hard.

It is a hard decision to be made but Foh San is marginally win over the other two as it has bigger restaurant, serving more variety and cleaner as well.
